This project formally began during my thesis program at PCNW. With my advisor, Daniel Gregory, I was able to articulate what I was shooting and begin to pull at some of the why. I recently began to shoot more work that fits within this project.

California Ave. is named after the street where I tend to shoot most of this work, but I have stripped some of the nomenclature to give it a broader sound, capturing the idea of what California can mean to the viewer as well as the abbreviation of Ave. It conjures a new and familiar place.
